LCC Jr. High boys basketball team compiles impressive record

COLERIDGE — Twenty young men made up the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Junior High boys basketball team.

Practice started in early December and the boys worked hard, knowing their first game against Plainview was coming in early January of 2021.

That game went very well and the boys came away with wins at the “A” and “B” team level.

The “A” boys team really took off with a great run of wins against Ponca, Randolph, Homer, Wakefield, Wayne, and Hartington.

During that same stretch run the “B” boys team went four wins and three losses.

After starting the season off at 7-0, the Bulldogs ran into a very good Cedar Catholic team and found a tough night scoring and suffered their first loss of the season.

After that, both boys teams traveled to Wayne for the Wayne Junior High Boys tournament.

The “A” boys team went 1-1 and ended up with third place in the tournament, while the “B” boys team received fourth place.

This tournament marked the end to the “B” team games with a 4-6 record.

In the last tournament of the season the Boys “A” team traveled to Hartington for the Hartington Public tournament.

After going 2-0 the boys came home Champions and finished the season with a record of 10-2.

The coaches want to wish the 11 eighth graders good luck in the future with whatever they choose to do and thank them for working hard all season and making it very enjoyable to watch and coach.
