Hall is top vote-getter
HARTINGTON — Eight candidates were competing for five seats on the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge School Board during Tuesday’s election.
Incumbent Jay Hall emerged as the top voter-getter with 660 votes.
Also earning four-year spots on the board were: Scott Taylor, 609 votes; Angela Johnson, 559 votes; Grant Settje, 548 votes; and Daniel Kuhlman, 462 votes.
Laurel voters also decided Tuesday to give Keith Knudsen and Mark Koch four-year terms on the City Council.
Laurel residents also overwhelmingly approved a sales tax, voting in favor of the tax by a 71-28 percent margin.
Laurel native Rich Erwin won election, as well. Erwin, a longtime Cedar-Knox Public Power District Board member won re-election to the Board. Erwin picked up 748 votes, to Micheal Korth’s 472.
