Randolph Legion drops pair of games

HARTINGTON — The Randolph American Legion Senior baseball team suffered a pair of losses at Hartington last week.

In the opener, Hartington topped the Redbirds 22-1 in five innings.

The home team batted around, putting 11 runs on the board in the first frame and put up six more over the next two frames, while holding Randolph scoreless through two innings.

Randolph finally got on the board in the third frame when Carter Schnoor singled to reach base, then stole second and swiped third. Backhaus then singled to drive him home.
