Dance team competes at State

The RHS Dance team competed at the 2018 Nebraska State Cheer and Dance Championship Feb. 16 in Grand Island.

The team received runner up in Hip Hop dance and fourth place in Pom routine. Team members include, (back row, l-r) Abigail Schmit, Sophia Carlson, Maesik Denn, Ida Bjerke, McKinna Faulkenberry, Kelsey Eledge, Shannon Haselhorst, Coach Chelsey Kutchta; (front) Baylie Shearer, Jenna Albers and Natalie Munter.

One month before state, the girls found out there were not enough teams in the jazz category and they would either have to move up and compete in Class C or learn a whole new routine and switch to hip hop. The girls learned a whole new routine four weeks before state with a lot of 6 a.m. practices and still received runner up.
