William L. “Bill” Korth

OSMOND - Memorial services for William L. "Bill" Korth, age 82, of Osmond were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 19, 2024, at the United Methodist Church in Osmond. Officiating the service was Reverend Rodg - ers Chishiba and Reverend Alan Gager. Music was by guitarist Boyd Doyle. Honorary pallbearers were Race Kelley, Paul Lenhoff, Adam Lenhoff, Zach Lewon, Jordan Lewon, Theron Johnson, Justin Roxbury, Tyler Roxbury, Stuart Siecke, Cody Siecke and Tristan Diaz. Visitation was 9:30 a.m, Mon - day to service time at the church. Inurnment was at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Norfolk. Bill passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024, with his family by his side. Arrangements are by Stonacek Memorial Chapel in Osmond. Bill was born Jan. 5, 1942, to William and Edna (Koehler) Korth at McLean. Bill was baptized and confirmed at Im manuel Lutheran Church in Osmond and was also in Walther League. He went to school at McLean Public School and graduated from Osmond High School. Bill enjoyed playing sports while in high school. Bill mar - ried Jacqueline Clemans on Nov. 16, 1963, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osmond. The family were members of Immanuel Lutheran Church. They lived and farmed in the McLean area. From this union they had two daugh - ters, Dawn and Lisa. Bill owned and operated a gas station in Norfolk and also worked at the Norfolk Country Club. The couple divorced in 1970. The family joined the United Methodist Church in Osmond. Bill married Bonny Ballard on July 27, 1971, in Boise, ID. From this union the family grew to five more children, Peggy, Beth, Amy, Mike, and Shelly. The family lived in Norfolk. They moved to the Korth farm by McLean in 1973, and then to Osmond in 1976. Bill enjoyed farming and later on worked for Theisen and Sons and then Battle Creek Coop, until he retired in 2005. Bill was a member of the United Methodist Church in Osmond. He sang for weddings, funerals and in church, along with a band he belonged to back in the day. Bill enjoyed golfing, bowling, and tinkering around in his shop.

Survivors include children Peggy (Dan) Buckendahl of Norfolk, Beth (Da - vid) Lewon of Lincoln, Amy Lenhoff of Waverly, Shelly (Carroll) Roxbury of Wymore, Dawn Johnson of Osmond and Lisa (Vincent) Diaz of Ceres, CA; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister LaVila (Wendell) Smith of Muscoda, WI; sister-in-law Nadene Korth of Ogallala, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Edna; wife Bonny; brother LaVerle; two granddaughters, Alayah and Sadie; son Mike Siecke and fiancé Barbara Bratcher.
