OMAHA — Terry Lee Carl, 67, Omaha, died April 16, 2023, at Lakeside Hospital, Omaha.

Mass of Christian burial was April 24 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Omaha, with Rev. John Pietramale officiating.

Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery, Wayne, with Deacon Roger Filips officiating.

Pallbearers were Terry’s brothers, and honorary pallbearers were the staff and residents of Terry’s Mosaic Home in Omaha.

Terry was born April 25, 1955, in Wakefield, to Donald and Joan (Nuss) Carl. He spent his first six years at home with his family but soon became too much for them to handle. He then went to the Beatrice State Developmental Center, Beatrice. In 2011, he moved to Omaha into a house managed by Mosaic of Omaha.

Terry was JOY. Terry was LAUGHTER. Terry was LOVE. He enjoyed trains, the holidays, old movies, pets, silly hats, Playdough, his iPad, and bubbles just to name a few. He loved any celebration. He loved his family and would come running with open arms when they would visit. He loved hugs and a good head rub. We give thanks for all the good people at Mosaic of Omaha, both past and present, and the staff of the house in which Terry lived. They are angels on earth for the wonderful care they provided him. They treated him with dignity and love and it showed. We are going to miss him so much, but rejoice for having been blessed to get to love him all of these years Survivors include his five brothers, Roger (Liza) Carl, Lincoln; Danny (Jody) Carl, Hartington; Mark (Kris) Carl, Bennington; Tommy (Li) Carl, Dakota City, Iowa; and Lee Carl, Hartington; and many nieces and nephews.

Terry is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Jill Carl.
