Wausa girls earn runner-up finish at Knox County Invite

CREIGHTON - The Vikings track & field teams opened up the season with the Knox County Invite last Monday in Creighton, and the girls’ excelled to finish second out of nine teams.

The Lady Vikes scored 97 points to finish 22 points behind the champion Crofton. Wausa also earned one more point than Bloomfield to take the runner-up finish.

Wausa earned individual wins by Ruth Johnson in the long jump, Paige Nissen in the 100 meter dash, and a relay win in the 4x800. The Lady Vikings also earned points in 12 of the 14 individual events.
