Vikes edge Boyd County in make-up game

WAUSA— The Vikings escaped with a 36-33 win over Boyd County at home Dec. 20 to head into winter break with two straight wins.

After going down early, Wausa battled back in the second quarter to take a 20-18 lead at halftime. In the third quarter, the Vikings extended that lead to 35-29 heading to the final eight minutes of play.

The Vikings six point lead was enough to hold onto a win, with just five total points being scored in the fourth quarter. Wausa did not make a field goal to end the game and made one free throw to help preserve the win.
