Lady Vikes take third in Post-Holiday Tourney

WAUSA — The Lady Vikings faced off against Niobrara/Verdigre for the second time this season, this time in the third place match of the Wausa Post Holiday Tournament. Like in the first meeting, Wausa went on to post a win — 52-34.

The Purple and Gold got off to a slow start, but soon rectified the offense in the second quarter. Scoring was few and far between in the first quarter, with The Lady Cougars leading the Lady Vikings 7-6 at the end of the first quarter.

Wausa would go on to score more than ten points in each of the next three quarters on the way to victory. By halftime the score was 20-15, and Niobrara/Verdigre only scored above 10 points in the third quarter.
