Lady Vikes move to 8-10 with win over Bloomfield

PLAINVIEW — The Lady Vikings hopped back into their winning ways with a 56-31 victory over Bloomfield in the consolation round of the Girls Lewis & Clark Conference Basketball Tournament on Thursday.

Wausa came out strong, scoring 17 in each of the first two quarters to build a sizable 34-15 lead by halftime. Things slowed up in the third quarter with the Lady Vikes scoring just six points, but with 16 scored in the fourth it was enough to hold on for the win.

Clara Schindler led the way with 15 points for Wausa. She was one of three players to reach double digits, with Esther Nelson netting 14 and Paige Nissen contributing 10 points. Morgan Kleinschmit almost joined the club with nine points, Ruth Johnson followed her with four points, and Elizabeth Johnson and Leah Bloomquist each had two points.
