Lady Vikes earn medals at L&C meet

LAUREL - The Wausa Vikings earned some individual wins at the Conference Track Meet in Laurel on Saturday, but the teams struggled to compete in total points. The girls team finished in fifth with 56.5 points on the day, and the boys came in 15th with four points. For the girls, Ruth Johnson won the long jump with a mark of 15’ 11”, and the girls 4x800 meter team placed first for Wausa’s only first place finishes of the day. Esther Nelson, Melanie Vanness, Hannah Hubers, and Ann Woockman ran a 10:49.2 to beat Bloomfield by two seconds in the relay race
