Piecemakers Quilters met at Countryside Villa for Friday the 13th

WAUSA — The Piecemaker’s Quilters met at the Countryside Villa on a blustery Friday the 13th. Neither the weather nor the date dampened our spirits as we had many things to cover. Those present were Bonnie, Donna Mae, Jo, Judy, Garnet, and Carolyn. Absent were Florence, Marci, and Barb. Carolyn was going to be a little late, so we discussed some smaller things. Although Marci was unable to make it, she had sent some bookmarks for everyone that told us of the Omaha Quilters’ Guild 40th Annual Quilt Show on June 21-23, 2018. Some discussion was held, but it is the same weekend as our one day “retreat.” We had a “Sew and Tell” session. Judy brought a quilt that she had finished It was a “Mystery Quilt (you get instruction once a week or month on individual squares and then when all squares are completed, you get the instructions on how to put it together).

The colors of this quilt were peach to coral, Aqua to teal, and had brown accents. It was titled On Ringo’s Lake and was absolutely gorgeous. Judy also brought two quilt books that she had purchased and offered to lend them to us. One was using 2 ½ inch strips and showed several different options. The second was Farm Girl Vintage and looked very interesting (for when some of us get caught up on our UFO’s (Unfinished objects)!
