“Goodbye Girl” is by James Grippando. In her teens, Imani Nichols signed a record contract with her now ex-husband, Shaky Nichols. Since Imani has become a star, Shaky has become rich, but Imani is underpaid. Imani’s lover ends up dead with the words “goodbye girl” impressed on his chest.

Shaky and Imani are both indicted for murder.

Defense attorney Jack Swyteck attempts to solve the murder and free Shaky and Imani. What Jack finds may change the future of the entire recording industry. This book is in large print.

“Hidden Salem” is by Kay Hooper. Nellie Cavendish hardly remembers her dad, who left her to paid caregivers. Strange events occur.

Crows gather near her. Electronics short out when she touches them. Storms come when she’s upset. Nellie opens a mysterious letter from her father years after his death. He insists she go to a town called Salem to stop some unnamed evil. Grayson Sheridan, a longtime member

of the FBI’s Special Crimes Unit, arrives in Salem to also solve the mystery. This book is in large print.

“The Scorpion’s Tail” is by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. A mummified corpse is found inside an abandoned building in a remote New Mexico ghost town. Rookie FBI Agent Corrie Swanson is assigned the case. She brings in archaeologist Nora Kelly to help. They discover the person apparently died in agony. A valuable Spanish gold cross is found on the body. The two identify the body and learn about a secret world of ancient treasure. This book is in regular print.

“The Diamond Eye” is by Kate Quinn. Mila Pavlichenko’s focus is on her library job and her young son. In 1937, Adolf Hitler’s invasion forces Mila to become a sniper known as “Lady Death.” After her 300th kill makes news, she is taken from the battlefields and sent to America on a goodwill tour. She feels isolated, but she connects with First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt and a fellow sniper. Mila is confronted by an old enemy and a new foe. Her life becomes much more dangerous.

“Old Bones” is by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. Historian Clive Benton asks Nora Kelly to lead an expedition in the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Benton has found a diary of one of the tragic Donner Party. The pioneer diary exposes the truth, which is more complex and surprising than what they could have imagined. Benton and Kelly learn that crimes committed years ago in the late 1840s may have modern-day repercussions. This book is in regular print.
