Grant helps Wausa businesses make updates

WAUSA — While you may not notice updates to west-facing windows or ever step on the new roof of Bill’s Place at the corner of Broadway and Sherman in Wausa, one improvement among the many going on throughout downtown, stands out.

And for its owner Bill Schumacher, it means something more.

“We put those dala horses on it to really tie into the Swedish history around here,” Schumacher said Tuesday afternoon as he looked up at his new blue and red sign displaying “Bill’s Place.”

The signage is just another sign of pride in a community that’s not afraid to show its pride.
