“Welcome to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter”

WAUSA — This year’s prom theme “Spellbound” is a Harry Potter movie theme, which filled the multipurpose room April 13. There was a great turn out this year, even though we were under a blizzard warning.

The multipurpose room was transformed into some of the most iconic movie scenes of the Harry Potter series. The room was decorated in red, yellow, blue and green to match that of the four Hogwarts Houses. The art students along with Mrs. Eddie, Mrs. Hoesing and Mrs. McFarland created scenes like Diagon Alley complete with store fronts and an open brick wall leading to Gringotts Bank. Then you walked through Kings Cross Station and Platform 9 ¾. Inside the multipurpose room was Hogwarts Castle with black iron gates and dementors floating about. The great room was set up with the head dining table against the five banners floating behind representing all four houses, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. The students all sat in the four long house tables which were decorated with center pieces of potions, scrolls and wands. In another corner Aragog, Hagrids’ beloved spider, was hiding among the Forbidden Forest. While, the sorting hat accompanied the night speakers at the podium.
