Wrestlers compete at Creighton invitational

CREIGHTON — The Osmond wrestlers competed at the Creighton invitational on Saturday, Dec. 5. The Tigers scored 73 team points and finished in sixth place out of the 10 teams competing. The Tigers were led by Robert Aschoff, Alex Vinson and Patrick Vinson, who all finished in third place in their weight brackets.

“All the kids wrestled well for the first meet of the year,” said Coach Larry McKenna. “We had set a team goal of finishing in seventh place or better and scoring 60 team points. We were able to accomplish both goals by finishing in sixth place and scoring 73 team points. Patrick, Alex, and Robert all finished third in their brackets while Hunter and Bodie just missed out on a medal and finished in fifth place in their brackets. Dominic also wrestled well in his first high school tournament, winning two matches and scoring four team points.”

Next action for the Tigers will be at the Clearwater invite on Thursday, Dec. 10.
