Tigers’ ground game drags Osmond to 50-28 victory

WINSIDE — The Osmond Tigers traveled to Winside on Thursday, Sept. 17, to take on Winside, and defeated the Wildcats 50-28.

The Tigers were led by junior quarterback Patrick Vinson in the win over Winside. The junior ran for 49 yards and threw for 144 yards and accounted for three touchdowns.

Patrick was backed up by the offensive line and his brother Alex Vinson. Alex accounted for 114 yards on the ground and had 25 yards receiving.

Connor Gutz added fuel to the Tiger fire while returning a kick return for a 70-yard touchdown return. The halftime score was 20- 14 in favor of the Tigers.

The second half consisted of a solid offensive effort and a better defensive stand. The Tigers forced one turnover when Ryan Schmit picked off the Winside quarterback.

The Tigers scontinued to pour it on with a Zach Huwaldt touch down pass and two touchdowns by Bryan Solorzano. The Tigers picked up the win, 50-28, and move to 2-1.

They will be in action Friday, Sept. 25, at home against Randolph at 7 p.m.
