Teams are to begin action this week

OSMOND — Opening competition for Osmond High School winter sports teams will begin this week, with basketball games on Friday and Saturday and wrestling on Saturday. 

Basketball Starts Friday

The boys’ and girls’ basketball teams will travel to Randolph in the season openers on Friday, Dec. 3, with the varsity girls play at 6:15 p.m.,  then host Hartington-Newcastle on Satuday, Dec. 4, with the girls’ game starting at 3:30 p.m.

Returning letter winners for the girls’ team are Macy Aschoff, Grace Gansebom, Kiera Moes, Bailey Schmit and Cali Gutz.

Boys’ team returning letter winners are Stevin Hasler, Bryan Solorzano, Ryan Schmit, Zach Reikofski and Caden Wingert.

The boys’ basketball coach is Dil-insurance category on Forbes 2022 America’s Best Insu lon Wolfgram, with assistant Bronson 0 customers who owned at least one insurance policy a Pahl.

Coach Wolfgam commented, “We have a good core of guys who are going to play hard and tough, and be disciplined. We expect to hang our hat on our defense and force teams into tough shots throughout the season.  With having some key guys return from last year’s team, I believe we can battle in a lot of games and figure out ways to come out on top.”

Wrestlers Open Saturday

The first wrestling meet of the season for the Tigers is Saturday, Dec. 4. The team will travel to Creighton for its annual invitational meet which begins at 9:30 a.m.

The wrestling letter winners returning for action this year are Robert Aschoff, Dominic True and Patrick Vinson. Their coach is Larry McKenna, and assistant coaches are Kyle Schmit and Blake Moen.
