Randolph girls earn runner-up honors at Pierce County Tny.

OSMOND - Randolph won one and lost one at the Pierce County Tournament on Thursday night to earn runner-up honors.

The Lady Cardinal volleyball team defeated Plainview in three sets — 25-18, 14-25, 25-22 — before being swept by Pierce — 25-14, 25-19.

Sophia Harder led her team at the net for the win with six kills. Emma Bermel set 13 of the team’s kills, a team high, and she also led her team in ace serves with three.

Carlie Nordhues led her team with six kills in the loss to Pierce. Randolph put up a good effort but the Lady Cards were unable to stop the two-set sweep from the Class C1 opponent.

The win and the loss keeps Randolph three games under .500 at 11-14 on the season. Randolph had the week off after playing in the Pierce County Tournament, as the team prepares for the Lewis & Clark Conference Tournament beginning on Saturday.
