Osmond Tigers to kick off season next week

OSMOND — The Osmond Tigers are heading into the 2021 football season with many returning starters, including seniors Patrick Vinson, Ryan Schmit and Bryan Solorzano, and juniors Zach Reikofski, Caden Wingert, Alex Vinson and Bradee Gubbels.

Other team members include juniors Darren Kelly and Reese Hanna; sophomores Ethan Davids, Xander Brown, Owen Severson and Hunter Buchanan, and freshmen Noah Geneski, Cody Gansebom, Isaac Harder, Jaxon Vinson and Carson Bolz

Coaching the team this year will be Wyatt Schuettler, with assistants Dillan Wolfgram, Mike Slagle, Rod Brummels, and Michael Koehler.

Head Coach Schuettler commented, “I like the experience that we are returning. The returning core is another year older and stronger. I’m excited about the product we are going to put on the field.”

“The leadership experience coming back has made the transition to a completely new coaching staff seem effortless,” Schuettler continued. “Patrick, Ryan and Bryan are seniors with plenty of experience and football knowledge that will trickle down and help others. I think our key is going to be protecting Patrick upfront so he can find the guys playing in our skills positions. We will need to play fast and make the plays we can.”

Schuettler added, “With only one assistant coach returning from last year, it’s all new. However, we as coaches, have all the confidence that the kids will perform well, and we are going to put them in positions to be as successful as possible.”

The Tigers open against Allen on Friday, Aug. 27, at 7 p.m.; however, there will be a Gatorade scrimmage this Friday, Aug. 20, at 6:30 p.m.
