Osmond High School wrestlers place well at own invitational

OSMOND – The Osmond wrestlers competed at the Osmond invitational on Saturday, Dec. 18.

The Tiger wrestlers scored 88.0 points and finished in fourth place out of the 12 teams competing.

West Point Beemer was the team champion, followed by Ponca and North Central.

Individually for the Tigers, Robert Aschoff finished in first place with Dominic True, Jaxon Vinson, Patrick Vinson and Carson Bolz all finishing in second place.

“All the kids really wrestled well,” praised Coach Larry McKenna. “As a team, we finished with an overall record of 15 wins and four losses with all 15 wins coming by pin. We were able to score 88 points with only five wrestlers and finish in fourth place out of 12 teams, which was awesome. It was a great overall team effort.”

Osmond had one individual champion as Robert Aschoff finished in first place at 106 lbs. Robert won all three of his matches by pin to claim his third straight tournament of the year and run his season record to a perfect 12 - 0. Dominic True also wrestled well,

Dominic True also wrestled well, losing a close decision in his first match before winning his next four matches all by pin to finish in second place at 120 lbs.

Jaxon Vinson also wrestled well, winning his first four matches, all by pin, before losing a close finals match to finish in second place at 132 lbs.

Patrick Vinson, wrestling at 160 lbs. won his first two matches to finish first in his pool and move into the championship bracket. In the championship bracket, Patrick pinned his first opponent before losing a close match in the finals to also finish in second place.

Carson Bolz wrestled well, winning his first match by pin before losing to a very good wrestler from West Point to finish in second place at 195 lbs.
