OHS Tigers end season with first-round loss
OSMOND — The Tigers opened up first-round action against the Creighton Bulldogs in Osmond on
a cold Thursday night. The Tigers won the coin flip for a miraculous eighth time for the season and started on defense.
The Creighton Bulldogs marched down the field and scored on their opening drive. The Tigers’ attack was led by Patrick Vinson and Ryan
Schmit. Vinson was 4 for 10 with 102 yards of passing. Ryan Schmit was four catches with two TDs. The ground game was spearheaded by Connor Gutz with 61
total yards, Alex Vinson with 60 yards and Patrick Vinson with 17 yards. The Tigers went into halftime down 30-20.
The Tiger defense tried to hold up with Alex Vinson’s 22 tackles and Zach Huwaldt’s 12 tackles. The defense blocked a punt by Patrick Vinson for a touchdown and kept
the Tigers in the game. Slowly in the third and fourth, the Bulldogs pulled away. The Bulldogs won the game 54-26; concluding the Tigers’ season at 5-3.
Coach Cory Lenton, Coach Todd Schultze and Coach Mike Slagle gave a special thank you to the seniors for their leadership and dedication that they brought to the Osmond Tiger football program.
