Legion team loses on road

RANDOLPH - The Randolph Cardinals fell to 1-3 overall early in this American Legion Senior season with an 11-3 road loss last week at O’Neill and a 10-1 defeat at home against Stanton on Friday.

“A few costly mistakes have cost us big time in these games so if we can fix them we will be able to compete against anyone we play,” Randolph head coach Eric Brown said. “Both Justin Haselhorst and Bryson Eledge pitched great games this week. If we can start getting some run support for our starting pitchers, we can back up their good performances on the mound.”

Brown noted Eledge’s performance against Stanton considering he only had one day of pitching practice prior to the outing.

“He did all that we asked him to do in the game,” Brown said. “I can’t wait to see how he does for us the rest of the season when pitching.”

The Cardinals only had one game this week and that took place Tuesday against Creighton/Plainview. Be sure to check back next week for a game recap.
