LCC athletes earn post-season honors

LAUREL — Laurel-Concord-Coleridge had four athletes named to the D1-6 All District Football First Team.

Austin Hall, Cael Hartung, Evan Haisch and Sutton Ehlers were all tabbed for the elite team by District coaches.

Three other Bears also earned Honorable Mention status on the team. They are: Nolan Ohlrich, Evan Schmitt, and Deagan Puppe.

Wakefield led the District with six First-Team selections and three Honorable Mention selections.

It was easy to see why Haisch was one of the top players in the District this season. 

Haisch carried the ball 260 times for 1,823 yards on the season — an average of seven yards per carry. He broke the 100-yard mark in nine of the Bears 10 games this season. He also scored 32 rushing touchdowns. Haisch also caught six passes this season for 145 yards and two touchdowns. 

Sutton Ehlers main contribution for the Bears this season was on defense where he led the team in tackles with 97. 

He also averaged 3.4 yards per carry for the Bears this season and hauled in eight passes for 101 yards. Ehlers also found the endzone twice in 2020.

Cael Hartung was the Bears’ top receiver this year. He hauled in 19 passes for 225 yards. 

Hall was a force in the trenches for the Bears. He was the team’s third leading tackler with 65 stops. He also had a team-high nine tackles for loss. His blocking was also crucial in the Bears’ running attack this season.
