Lady Tigers defeat Lady Warriors in four sets

NELIGH — On Monday, Oct. 12, the Lady Tigers traveled to Neligh-Oakdale for a varsity only game. The Lady Tigers were to have played the Warriors earlier in the season, but because of COVID-19, this game was cancelled.

The Lady Tigers knew that they were going to need high energy and intensity to take home the win for this game, and that is exactly what they did. Osmond won in four sets with scores of 25-23, 25-17, 17-25, 25-19.

The Lady Tigers had an outstanding 94.5% serving percentage with only five service errors for the night. They did exceptionally well on their serve receive as well as their hitting coverage in which they put up 107 digs.

“As we begin tournament, conference and postseason play, the Lady Tigers needed this win as a confidence booster,” Coach Tiffany Rice said. “I truly believe if the Lady Tigers continue to have confidence in themselves, and bring high energy and intensity, the competition in these coming games can be handled.”

Individual stats for this game are as follows: Macy Aschoff – 1 ace, 6 kills, 22 digs; Bailey Schmit – 2 aces, 12 kills, 1 assist, 27 digs; Elisa Herrera – 1 ace, 1 assist, 30 digs; Grace Gansebom – 1 ace, 3 kills, 24 assists, 10 digs; Kiera Moes – 8 kills, 1 assist, 8 digs; Lillie Gansebom – 1 ace, 3 kills, 1 solo block, 10 digs; Cali Gutz – 7 kills.
