Lady Cards fall to Cats’ second-half surge

RANDOLPH — The Randolph Lady Cardinals got off to a good start Tuesday against Hartington-Newcastle, taking an early  11-8 lead as the buzzer sounded on the first quarter.

HNS regrouped in the second frame, though, to outscore their hosts 12-7 and take a 20-18 lead into the locker room at the break.

The second half belonged to the Purple and White as the Lady Cats outscored Randolph 27-16 to claim the 47-34 win. 

Jaiden Taylor was a real force for Randolph. 

She dominated the floor for the Lady Cards, hitting for a team-high 15 points and leading the defense with seven steals and two blocks. 

The HNS offense was paced by Abbe Morten, who hit a game-high 21 points. Kayden Jueden also hit double-figures sinking 16 on the night.
