Lady Bears take third in Clark Bracket
LAUREL — The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge girls basketball team came home with the consolation trophy in the Clark Bracket of the Lewis & Clark Conference tournament. LCC dropped a heartbreaker to Homer in the semifinals, as the Lady Knights came from behind to post a 41-40 win. LCC got a game-high 14 points from Kinsey Hall in the losing effort. Haley Christensen added nine points, Erica Wolfgram had eight, Jordynn Urwiler scored five and Mallory Eriksen and Reggan Kuhlman each had two points. Hall led the team with nine rebounds and four assists. Hall and Christensen highlighted the defensive effort with four steals apiece. In the consolation game, the Lady Bears erased a seven-point halftime deficit and pulled away with a 53-42 win over Osmond. Hall tossed in a game-high 20 points to lead the Lady Bear attack. Urwiler added nine points, Eriksen and Christensen each had eight, Berniece McCorkindale had six and Wolfgram and Kuhlman each scored one. Hall had a double-double with 10 rebounds while Urwiler grabbed six. Hall had three assists and five steals, while Eriksen and Urwiler had four and three steals, respectively. The Lady Bears close out the regular season this week with home games Thursday against Wisner-Pilger and
Friday with Summerland. They begin subdistrict play on Monday, Feb. 15.
