Lady Bears post 1-2 record during recent action

LAUREL — The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Lady Bears dropped two of three games in action last week. The Lady Bears started out with a 61-29 win over Bloomfield Tuesday, using a 16-3 secondquarter run to build a 17-point halftime advantage on their way to the win. Thursday evening, the Lady Bears faced in-county rival Cedar Catholic and came up on the short end of a 54-44 decision. The visitors pumped in 17 first-quarter points, while holding the Lady Bears to just three points in the first frame to take control of the contest early. Defense dominated in the second frame, but the girls in red managed to outscore the Lady Bears 10-5 to take a 27-8 lead into the halftime break. LCC regrouped in the second half to outscore the visitors 17-10. The Orange and Black again put in a good showing in the final frame, outscoring Cedar 19-17, but the early hole was too steep to climb out of and the Bears fell 54-44. LCC was led on offense in the game by Kinsey Hall, who dropped in a team-high 17 points. Delaney Ehlers also hit for double figures with 11. Cedar was led in the contest by freshman Makenna Noecker’s 22-point effort.
