Lady Bears open L&C Tourney with a win

LAUREL — The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge girls basketball team had no problems with Winside in the opening round of the Clark Division bracket of the Lewis & Clark Conference tournament.

The Lady Bears raced to a 34-8 halftime advantage Saturday and came away with an easy 57-28 win over the Lady Wildcats, advancing to Tuesday’s semifinal bracket.

Kinsey Hall led the way for the Lady Bears with 15 points, followed by Jordynn Urwiler with 12 points. Reggan Kuhlman scored eight points, Haley Christensen had seven, Mallory Eriksen scored six, Erica Wolfgram had five and Mollie Schutte and Delaney Johnson each had two points.

In the overtime win over the Lady Tigers, Hall threw in a game-high 18 points to lead the charge while Urwiler added nine points. Also scoring were Eriksen, Wolfgram and Kuhlman with five points apiece, Schutte added four and Christensen had two.

Eriksen led the team with seven rebounds while Christensen added six.
