Lady Bears handle Wolfpack
ALLEN — The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge volleyball team played a tough four-set match with Tri County Northeast last Tuesday in Allen, but managed a 25-21, 25-22, 22-25, 25-22 win.
Leading a solid net attack that produced 43 kills was Erica Wolfgram with 15, followed by Berniece McCorkindale with 12 and Mollie Schutte with eight. Also marking down kills were Kinsey Hall with six and Megan Forsberg and Delaney Johnson with one each. Hall had 28 assists, and Haley Christensen added 10.
Defensively, Wolfgram and McCorkindale both had six aces, Hall added three and Forsberg had two. Hall had 15 digs, McCorkindale had 12, Wolfgram and Jordynn Urwiler had nine apiece, Christensen picked up seven and Schutte and Cassie Granquist each had four.
Saturday, LCC travels to play in the Wisner-Pilger tournament.
“We will be seeded in this tournament by power points and a lot of tough competition,” LCC head coach Julie Kvols said. “The teams in the tournament are Chambers Wheeler Central, Homer, Humphrey St. Francis, Madison, Pierce, Wayne, and Wisner Pilger. As you can see a lot of power volleyball on Saturday. This is a great opportunity for some really good volleyball.”
