Lady Bears edge Wayne on the road

WAYNE — The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Lady Bears got a double-double from Kinsey Hall that helped them edge Wayne in non-conference basketball action last week, 53-46.

It was a close game throughout, but the Lady Bears were able to take a seven-point advantage into the locker room at halftime and sustain that advantage throughout a closely-played second half.

Hall had a big night for the 7-8 Lady Bears, tossing in 20 points by connecting on 8-10 freethrows and 6-10 field goal attempts.

She also grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds and dished out five assists in the winning effort.

Makayla Forsberg added 12 points and six rebounds for the winners. Also scoring were Erica Wolfgram with nine, Delaney Ehlers with eight and Haley Christensen and Reggan Kuhlman with two points apiece.

Friday’s home game with Creighton was postponed due to the weather. 

The Lady Bears started a three-game road swing Tuesday at Hartington-Newcastle, and will also have road tilts Thursday at Battle Creek and next Tuesday at Osmond.
