Lady Bears drop a pair of games

LAUREL — The LCC Lady Bears suffered two recent setbacks.

In their final game before Christmas, the Lady Bears dropped a 58-53 decision to Bloomfield when the Queen Bees came back from an early eight-point deficit to post the five-point win.

LCC had a 40-33 setback against Pierce in the first round of the Great Northeast Nebraska Shootout in Wayne.

The Lady Blue Jays took control right out of the gate, hanging an 18-3 run on the Lady Bears in the first frame.

LCC regrouped in the second quarter to outscore the Lady Jays 9-6 and cut the halftime deficit to 24-12.

Pierce then outscored LCC, 8-6 in the third frame, but the Bears put on a late rally to outscore Pierce 15-8 in the final frame, but it was too late.

Junior Kinsey Hall paced LCC in scoring with 14 points followed by Reggan Kuhlman, who hit for eight points.
