Jr. High teams wrap up successful season
COLERIDGE — The LCC Jr. High volleyball season recently came to a close. Here is a look at recent action.
In action against the Lady Pirates of Plainview only the C and B team played. They defeated LCC in both games. In C team action, Baylie Graf and Emma Sohler led the servers. In B team action, Carly Kuhlman led the servers.
Wakefield-Allen-Emerson came to Coleridge Oct. 1. The Lady Bulldogs swept them in all three games.
In C team action, Skylar Swanson and Ryleigh Specht led the servers. The B team won in three sets with lead servers Baylie Graf, Carly Kuhlman and Skylar Swanson.
The A team went three sets, for the win. Leading servers were Mallory Eriksen and Tali Erwin.
Wisner-Pilger Tournament
A team – LCC played Wisner-Pilger in the first game action. They won the first set 25-23, then lost 25-14, 25-18. In serving, Mallory Eriksen led the team with nine points and Delaney Johnson had seven points. In the second game, the Bulldogs faced Howells Dodge and were victorious. They won 25-18, 25-15, 25-14. Toni Thompson led servers with 13 points followed by Chelsea Potts with nine points. In the final game, LCC was defeated by Norfolk Catholic 23-25, 17-25. Tali Erwin led servers with nine points followed by Toni Thompson with six points.
B team – The B team came home champions after defeating Wisner Pilger, David City and Wayne. Against Wisner Pilger, Rachel Rasmussen led the servers followed by Carly Kuhlman to beat the Gators 25-19, 25-12, 25-15. Three sets were played against the first two teams automatically. Against David City, Baylie Graf and Rachel Rasmussen led the servers to victory 25-11, 25-17, 25-10. In the final game against Wayne, Lainey Schutte led the servers followed by Ryleigh Specht. LCC won 17-25, 25-9, 25-21.
LCC Bulldogstraveled toPonca and swept them in all three games. Baylie Graf and Josilyn Martin led the servers on C Team. In B team action, Lainey Schutte and Baylie Graf led the servers. In the A game, Tali Erwin, Mallory Eriksen and Delaney Johnson led the servers.
LCC Tournament
Both the A and B team won the LCC Tournament. The B team played Randolph and won 21-7, 21-11. Carly Kuhlman led the servers followed by Lainey Schutte. This win put the girls in the title match against Elkhorn Valley. The B team won 21-11, and 21-17. Baylie Graf led the servers followed by Carly Kuhlman.
In A team action, the girls played Randolph in a close game and won 14-21, 23-21, 15-10. Tali Erwin led the servers followed by Chelsea Potts. In the final game, LCC played Elkhorn Valley in another close three set game. LCC came out on top 21-11, 15-21, 15-13. Tali Erwin and Mallorie Eriksen led the servers in this nail biting game to win the Championship.
