Playing on the white team will be recent Osmond High School graduate Zachary Huwaldt. Huwaldt, at 6-ft., 2-in. and 225 lbs., will play in the defensive tackle position.

Other Osmond students who have played in the All-Star Classic include Anthony Heiman and Nicholas Reikofski in 2019, with then-Osmond coach Scott Morrison as the coach for the White Team; Brock Johnson and Tyler Reikofski in 2017, with then-Osmond coach Rod Brummels as White Team head coach; Max Frank in 2013, and Andrew Folkers and Carlin Krienert in 2013, with Brummels as assistant coach that year for the White Team.

History of the Classic

In February of 2012, long-time Northeast Nebraska coach Rich Rethwisch brought the idea of having an all-star football game for Northeast Nebraska to local coaches, administrators and businessmen. This idea was taken to the Norfolk Area Visitors Bureau and additional coaches for further conversation.

From those informal meetings, in March of 2012, a Board of Directors was formed to create what is now known as the Northeast Nebraska All-Star Football Classic.

On August 1, 2012 the Board of Directors announced at press conference that the first All-Star game would be played in June of 2013.

The Classic is for graduated seniors who are nominated by their own coach from a pool of high school football teams through out the greater northeast Nebraska region. Game coaches, players and officials are selected by the Classic’s Board of Directors.
