Girls battle Creighton on the road

(By Head Coach David Schmit)

CREIGHTON —The Lady Tigers took to the road once more to battle conference foe Creighton on Tuesday, Dec. 15.

We knew coming into this game that we were on the verge of putting together four quarters of good basketball and coming out on top.

That was our big emphasis coming into this game and the girls really locked onto this goal and proved it throughout the game. Another of our goals was to contain Macy Zimmerer, who led their team in scoring. To her credit,

Cali Gutz did a great job on Macy throughout the game, as did Grace Gansebom.

Kiera Moes continued to stay hot, shooting the ball as she once again led our team with 23 points. Grace chipped in 13 points and Macy Aschoff followed with 10 points. Having three players in double

figures scoring the basketball makes a big difference in a game. Our offense was patient enough to find the right shot and really played well together. Defensively, we did a great job

on Zimmerer and kept their role players in check. Overall, tonight was fun across the board to see our girls put together a full game and have the success they did. Their hard work in practices and progress in our previous games

finally yielded the end result that they earned tonight. I’m incredibly proud of them and while we’ll enjoy this one, we know each game going forward will require the same effort and execution that we did tonight.
