Football players named to All-District teams

OSMOND — The Osmond High School football team had seven members selected to the All-District D2-3 teams. Two were named to All-District Offense and two to All-District Defense, while one received honorable mention. 

Those named to the offensive team were juniors Patrick Vinson and Ryan Schmit. Senior Zach Huwaldt and sophomore Alex Vinson were named to the defensive team. Receiving honorable mention was junior Bryan Solorzano.

Coach Cory Lenton commented, “I think all five of our guys earned this recognition. They put themselves in a position to be successful. They also had help from their teammates, which is a good thing for us going forward. We’re sad to see Zach Huwaldt leave, but also very excited for the rest to return next year.”

Other area players receiving All-District recognition are as follows: 

Offensive team: Justin Haselhorst of Randolph; Steel Claussen of Wausa; Gabe Escalante of Winside, and Anthony Haberman, Peyton Wieseler and Trystan Heimes of Wynot.

Defensive team: Jarrett Anderson of Wausa; Art Escalante, Cayden Ellis and Mason Topp of Winside, and Garrett Lange and Owen Sudbeck of Wynot.

Honorable mention: Cadein Villwok and Tristan Mosel of Randolph; Jaxon Claussen, Josh Wattier and Carsen Barney of Wausa; Dominic Reed of Winside, and Colin Wieseler of Wynot.
