Cross country runners ready to race

(By Coach Joe Ortmeier)

OSMOND — After missing out on the 2020 Track season because of COVID-19, the Osmond Tigers are ready to race somebody, anybody!

Last year, they saw a solid cross country season where the boys’ team won five meets and placed ninth in the Class D state meet.

The girls’ team also had a nice season last year, earning runner-up honors at Niobrara and a third place in the Lewis & Clark Conference meet, and they return all four runners.

Returning letter winners are seniors Lexi Beacom, Hayle Krienert, Jozie Kumm, Johnson Chishiba and Graysen Schultze.  Junior letter winners are Riley Wagner and Kaden Polt.

The rest of the Tiger team includes senior Connor von Rentzell, juniors Hunter Beacom and Bodie True, sophomores Robert Aschoff, Karter Johnson and Hudson Schultze, and freshman James Doyle.

The Tigers are set to open the season at the Hartington Sports Complex on Thursday, Aug. 27, at 4:30 p.m.
