Carson wins gold at Plainview Invitational

PLAINVIEW — Quad County Northeast’s Fischer Carson turned in an undefeated performance at Saturday’s Plainview Invite to win gold at the meet.

The victory propelled the veteran wrestler to 25-8 on the year. Another Blaze standout— Colby Casey — also competed in the title match at Plainview. Casey, who competes at 195 pounds, lost that contest, though and had to settle for the silver medal. He now boasts a 27-6 record on the year.

Justin Backer also had a solid day, finishing with a fourth-place medal in the 182-pound division.
