Boys third, girls fourth at Neligh-Oakdale invitational

NELIGH — On Monday, Sept. 13, Osmond traveled to the Antelopecountry club in Neligh for their cross country invitational. The Tiger boys finished third of 12 teams and the girls finished fourth of five teams.

Gavin Geneski finished in third place in a nice time of 17:20 behind a pair of North Central runners. Winning time was 16:28 by Raden Orton. Dominic True was next for the Tigers at 10th place in 18:35, followed closely by Karter Johnson in 11th place in 18:36. Kaden Polt finished in 19th place, collecting a medal. His time was 19:50. Matthew Alderson just missed medaling, finishing in 21st place with a time of 19:54. In the boys’ junior varsity division, Bodie True was fifth in 20:07, Hunter Beacom came in sixth in 20:57, Hudson Schultze placed seventh in a time of 21:03, and James Doyle came in eighth in 21:10. On the girls’ side Keli Aschoff ran well placing seventh in a time of 21:51. Daisy Frick of North Central won the race in a time of 20:25. Riley Wagner also medaled placing 20th in a time of 26:21. Sydney Peck finished in 22nd place in a time of 30:33. For the junior high girls, Rachel Harder came in third. The times werenot available at this time. For the boys, Donivan Heiman finished 13th and Kooper Gubbels was 16th.“We ran very well,” noted Coach Joe Ortmeier. “We had some illnessand injuries, but we had kids step up and run very well.”
