Blaze go 2-1 at Wakefield quadrangular
WAKEFIELD — The Quad County Northeast wrestlers won two of three duals in a quadrangular Thursday, beating B-R/L-D (30-18) and Stanton (24-12) while falling to the host Trojans (36-30).
The Blaze won two of three matches in the dual with the Wolverines, getting pins from Sutton Ehlers and Colby Wathor at 160 and 220, respectively.
QCNE won five of the six duals but gave up five forfeits that allowed Wakefield to win the team score. Pins for QCNE were earned by Nolan Ohlrich (152), Tie Hollandsworth (182) Ajay Gubbels (182), Wathor at 195 and Kolby Casey at 285.
Ehlers was the only winner in the three matches held during the Stanton dual, but three opens by the Mustangs gave the win to the Blaze.
