Bears roll to big season-opening win over Crofton Warriors

LAUREL — The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge boys basketball team got off to a flying start Friday with a 64-37 blowout of Crofton at the LCC High School gym.

The Bears put four players in double figures and had a great balance in their debut, building a 34-18 halftime advantage and continuing to add to their lead on their way to the 27-point win.

Noah Schutte paced the LCC boys with a gamehigh 21 points.

Evan Haisch added 17 points. Cael Hartung was 6-of-7 from the floor and finished with 14 points and Ty Erwin added 10 points. Austin Hall contributed a basket to round out the scoring.

Schutte had 19 rebounds and Hartung added 10 for the Bears. Erwin led the team with five assists and Schutte and Haisch each had three steals.

LCC hosted Homer on Tuesday and will have road games Friday and Saturday at Emerson-Hubbard and Randolph before returning home for a Dec. 17 home battle with the state-rated Ponca Indians.
