Bears move to 7-0 after late surge against Bloomfield

LAUREL — The state-rated Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears dismantled another foe in their final game before Christmas break last week.

The Orange and Black got off to a slow start, but finished strong to hang a 77-43 setback on Bloomfield.

The win gave LCC a 7-0 start to the season. The Bears entered the Great Northeast Nebraska Shootout Tuesday at Wayne State College facing off against C1 powerhouse Auburn.

Against Bloomfield, the Bears took awhile to figure out how to shut Bloomfield down as the Bees earned a 15-14 first-quarter advantage.

LCC took control after that, outscoring the Bees 18-12 in the second frame to take a 32- 27 lead into the locker room.

The Bears clamped down on Bloomfield in the second half, pouring it on with a 28-2 third-quarter run before finishing the game with a 17-14 run for the easy Lewis and Clark Conference win.
