Wausa students compete in national SkillsUSA conference

WAUSA – Members of the Wausa SkillsUSA Chapter traveled to the 2022 National Leadership and Skills Conference in Atlanta June 20-24.

Several chapter members teamed up and earned silver medals in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies contest, including:

-Eighth-graders Ainsley Dawson, Braydon Hoesing and Lexi Wright.

-Seventh-graders Rogan Hoesing, Carlie Kleinschmit, Brady Kristensen and Brent Kristensen.

The Opening and Closing Ceremonies competition is a teamwork and oral presentation contest that evaluates teams’ understanding of the symbolic representation of the colors and assembled parts of the SkillsUSA emblem.

Each team includes seven registered members in the roles of president, vice president, parliamentarian, reporter, treasurer, secretary and historian.

Junior Joe Johnson competed in extemporaneous speaking during the national conference.

Braydon Hoesing qualified to compete in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies competition as well as Job Skill Demonstration A.

Rogan Hoesing qualified to compete in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies competition as well as Job Skill Demonstration Open.
