Wausa students attend FBLA State Leadership Conference 2021

WAUSA — The State Leadership Conference was held virtually Monday-Wednesday, April 12-14. Zoom was the platform for all meetings and conference presentations.

On Monday, All 24 SLC students reviewed the credentials provided for the state officer candidates. That evening, Wausa FBLA officers met at the home of FBLA sponsor, Dawn Friedrich, to participate in a networking session with other officers from across the state.

SLC students met again Tuesday to watch the state officer candidates participate in a formal caucus. Decisions were then made as to which candidates Wausa would be casting their votes for during the live voting on Wednesday.

Wednesday’s activities were held at the Lincoln Lied Township Library. The day opened with a “meet and greet” of the state officer candidates and then an opening session with Kent Julian as the keynote speaker. Short workshops were held from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m., where students could choose their session ranging from “Dress for Success” to “Successfully Branding Yourself” to “Discovering Your Strengths.” State officer voting took place in the afternoon followed by a trivia game, new state officer installation, and the Awards of Excellence Program.
