Wausa Speech team places third in Wayne

WAUSA — Wausa Speech team traveled to Wayne Feb. 8 for the Wayne Speech Invite, competing against over 500 kids. The Vikings finished third as a team behind Norfolk High School and Pierce High School, respectively.  

The team had 13 varsity entries earn medals. Five entries medaled in the top six: Cory Schumacher, Third Place-Humorous Prose Taylor Kumm, Third Place- Entertainment Isabelle Vanness, Third Place- Informative Kaitlyn Kumm, Taylor Kumm, Isabelle Vanness, Jailynn Story, and Tyler Baue, Third Place- OID Trey McQuay, Fifth Place- Entertainment Kaitlyn Kumm & Taylor Kumm, Seventh Place- Duet Acting Will Hagge, Seventh Place- Extemporaneous Will Hagge, Eighth Place- Persuasive Tyler Baue, 10th Place- Serious Prose Joe Johnson, 11th Place- Extemporaneous Cole Story & Tyler Baue, 13th Place- Duet Acting Leah Bloomquist, 16th Place- Informative Jaxon Claussen and Kilee Thorell, 18th Place- Duet Acting
