Wausa Public Schools Wins State Arts Award

OMAHA — Wausa Public Schools is one of two recipients of the 2021 NebraskARTS Award. Wausa Public Schools, along with Blackburn Alternative High School, were selected by a committee of arts educators from across the state.

The award is sponsored by Nebraskans for the Arts.

This award recognizes schools and/or school districts that make a notable and worthwhile contribution to the arts and arts education in the state of Nebraska. Recent NebraskARTS Award recipients include Schuyler Community Schools, Seward Public Schools, Kearney High School, Ravenna Public Schools, Hyannis Area Schools, Lincoln High School, Westside High School and York Public Schools.

2021 NebraskARTS Award Ceremony

Wausa Public Schools will be presented the 2021 NebraskARTS Award on Thursday, May 13 at 3 p.m. The event will feature the fine arts programs of the school, with displays of student art work and activities in the commons area, and brief performances during the award ceremony highlighting the school’s outstanding work in arts education.

Speakers include Nebraskans for the Arts Board President Rex Barker and State Board of Education member Patsy Koch Johns.
