Wausa High School students receive their diplomas

WAUSA — The Wausa High School Class of 2021 closed out their high school years Saturday.

The Class took part in graduation ceremonies at the W.H. Johnson Gym at Wausa High School.

The Wausa High School Band played “Pomp and Circumstance,” to usher the graduates into the event. The program then got underway after the band played the National Anthem.

Cory Schumacher gave the invocation at the start of the program. Wausa Class of 2021 Salutatorian Jaide Kaiser then addressed the crowd. Valedictorian Morgan Kleinschmit followed that up with her senior speech.

Supt. Brad Hoesing presented the Class and School Board President Mike Kumm then presented the diplomas and Guidance Counselor Greg Conn announced the various scholarships the students had earned.

When the graduates were once again seated, the concert choir sang “Homeward Bound,” before Cory Schumacher sang a solo version of “Up, Up and Away.”

The presentation of Class Honors was announced by Shane Anderson. The class and the audience then got to enjoy the class video, put together by Kim Kienow, Clara Schindler, Jaidyn Petersen, and Charlie Price.

Shane Anderson then did the All-Around Boy/Girl presentation.

The event concluded with a benediction by Brooke Kumm before the graduates were escorted out of the gym by their parents.
