School bond issue is voted down

OSMOND — The special bond election for Osmond Community School District 42 was held by mail-in vote with the deadline of Tuesday, March 10. There were 839 registered voters in the district with 627 votes cast, for a 75% voter turnout.

There were 409 votes against the bond, with 218 votes for, so the bond issue has failed.

As far as what will come next, Activity Center Committee member Tyler Gansebom said, “The activity center committee has not formally met since the vote. With the Covid-19 event taking over school priority and causing economic issues, any future discussion has been delayed. Any additional discussions or input needed from the community will be relayed at a later date.”
