Randolph One Act Play hits the stage

RANDOLPH — On Nov. 18, the one-act play cast performed “Wishful Thinking,” by Kenneth R. Preuss, for the public in the high school gym. “Wishful Thinking” is set in a school room and the students contend with a substitute teacher. It’s a play that refers to the story “The Monkey’s Paw,” where wishes are not exactly what they appear to be. It’s a comedy and it’s fun for all ages. The group took their play to Creighton Nov. 19 and competed in the Lewis and Clark conference competition against seven other teams in the Clark Side of the Conference. The teams included Randolph, Wausmond, Hartington, Plainview, Wynot, Winside, Bloomfield, and Creighton. Wausmond received first place and Hartington placed second. Randolph received three excellent ratings. Tyson Junck, Alexander Heiman, and Bobbi Winkelbauer all received Outstanding Acting Awards for the day. The next competition will be Districts in Bloomfield Dec. 3. Randolph is slated to perform at 12 noon that day.
