Randolph FCCLA members are honored at Lincoln event

LINCOLN - Three of Randolph’s FCCLA students were recognized during a Career Education Ceremony on Monday, Nov. 19.

Jenna Albers, Emmalee Harder, and Baylie Shearer attended the Commissioner’s Recognition for Student Excellence in Career Education Ceremony at the Nebraska State Capitol. 

Those included in attendance were the girls’ parents Doug and Joan Albers, Tyler and Stephanie Harder, and Anthony and Megan Shearer, FCCLA adviser, Frances Heiman, and Randolph Public Schools Supt. Jeff Hoesing.

The girls were given recognition for earning first place in their Food Innovations, Jr. STAR project last July at the National FCCLA Conference in Atlanta.

Presenters of the event included Dr. Matt Blomstedt, Commissioner of Career Education, and Lt. Governor Mike Foley. 

The Recognition Ceremony included career and technical student organizations from the state of Nebraska.  These included: DECA, Educators Rising, FBLA, PBL, FCCLA, FFA, HOSA, and SkillsUSA. The girls and their parents attended a reception at the Governor’s Residence following the ceremony.
